City of Xenia - Community Development Coordinator

Pay Range: $46,820.80 - $69,284.80, DOQ

The Community Development Coordinator for the City of Xenia is responsible coordinating and directing community and neighborhood-level activities and programs, revitalization and redevelopment projects, and the fair-housing program. This position researches, recommends and prepares grant applications; monitors programs and grants to ensure compliance with federal and state rules and contract provisions; works closely with downtown, neighborhood and other constituent groups; and prepares reports and provides information required for program and grant financial reporting. 

Qualified applicants will demonstrate the following:

  • The ability to build strong relationships with partnering agencies, business owners, property owners and co-workers.
  • The ability to plan, schedule and carry-out work assignments effectively with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to prepare and deliver public-speaking presentations.
  • The ability to organize and prepare data for financial reporting and program compliance. 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, regional planning or related discipline, two (2) years of progressive administrative or managerial experience in one of the fields, experience in downtown revitalization or community development program administration are preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities; must have computer skills with functional use of standard Microsoft applications, e-mail and internet.
