CDC of Ohio, Inc. – Assistant Planner
CDC of Ohio is a small community development consulting firm located in Columbus, Ohio that specializes in the administration of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home (HOME) Investment Partnership “CHIP Housing” as well as other State program grants.
CDC of Ohio is looking for a candidate to help with the administration of CDBG Allocation, Neighborhood Revitalization, Critical Infrastructure, Residential Public Infrastructure, and/or Community Housing Impact and Preservation Programs (CHIP) and related grant programs for small cities and counties. These grants primarily focus on improving public infrastructure and housing.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, City and Regional Planning, Urban Studies, Geography or related field or experience.
- Work experience is preferred, but not required, in the administration of the State Small Cities CDBG and/or HOME programs, technical writing, research or grant writing and administration.
Job Responsibilities – To Oversee Compliance of the following Federal and State Requirements:
- Fair Housing Outreach and Planning Analysis.
- Federal Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage Compliance.
- Section 3 Equal Opportunity Compliance.
- Preparation of Environmental Review Records.
- Work under the supervision of a Partner, Senior Planner, and/or other staff.
Basic Skills and Abilities:
- Comfortable interviewing workers on construction sites for prevailing wage compliance.
- Comfortable speaking in front of local officials, county commissioner meetings, city councils, and public audiences.
- Comfortable with technical writing, details and research.
- Able to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel.
- Must have valid Ohio Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
