Specifying and Contracting HVAC Work 
Inspections, Specification Writing, Cost Estimating and Construction Management

This live, online course will cover the entire process of having HVAC work completed as either an “Emergency Repair” project, or as part of a more extensive “Owner Occupied Housing Rehabilitation” job. The following topics will be discussed:

1. HVAC related requirements in the Ohio Residential Rehab Standards (RRS) and the Residential Code of Ohio.
2. How the nature of the project (emergency repair or standard rehab) will affect the process.
3. The inspection of existing equipment and the client interview.
4. Defining the heating and cooling loads and the type of equipment required.
5. Specifications and cost estimating.
6. Bidding and contracting.
7. Construction management.

This course is estimated to last between 90 and 120 minutes. A handout of the slides in PDF format will be provided prior to the course delivery.
