The course begins with a survey of web resources so attendees can continue fair housing education beyond the classroom and contact their local fair housing organization close to their jurisdiction in Ohio. The course reviews the major components of federal, state and local Fair
Housing laws which impact Ohio jurisdictions. It includes detailed explanations of protected classes and the major fair housing prohibitions. Current statistics are reviewed in relation to the protected classes displaying where the most liability is seen in the marketplace. A major
part of the course centers on why the top area of litigation is the protected class of disability, ways to avoid accruing liability and what best practices should be implemented at a local level.
