The news of potential deep cuts and the elimination of key U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and U.S. Department of Transportation programs central to creating communities of opportunity have planners — and APA — concerned.

While we won’t know for certain what President Trump’s budget will include until the release of his highly anticipated “skinny” budget late next week, there are actions you can take now to voice your support for programs likely on the chopping block in FY 2018.

Here’s our list of ways to show your support for the HUD programs CDBG, HOME, and TIGER:

The Origins of Easter

The first Christians, both Jewish and Gentile, were totally conscious of the Hebrew calendar. Jewish Christians, the very first to ever observe the resurrection of Jesus, timed the observance in connection with Passover.

Direct evidence for an even fully organized Christian festival of Pascha (Easter) begins to appear at the mid-2nd century. Maybe the oldest extant principal source speaking to Easter is that a mid-2nd-century Paschal homily attributed to Melito of Sardis, which signifies that the celebration as a one. Proof for another type of annual Christian festival, the commemoration of martyrs, begins to look about the same period as evidence for its celebration of Easter.

Though martyrs' times (usually the individual dates of martyrdom) have been celebrated on fixed dates from the community solar calendar, the date of Easter was mended with the community Jewish lunisolar calendar. It is consistent with all the celebration of Easter acquiring entered Christianity during its earliest, charming phase, but does not leave the matter absolutely free of uncertainty.

The ecclesiastical historian Socrates Scholasticus attributes the observance of Easter from the church to the perpetuation of its habit, "just as many other customs have been established", stating that neither Jesus nor his Apostles enjoined the keeping of this
or some festival. Although he describes the particulars of the Easter celebration as deriving from regional convention, he insists the banquet itself is universally observed.
