HUD ANNOUNCES MAJOR RESTRUCTURING OF FIELD OFFICES

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development today announced a series of restructuring and systemic changes within its Office of Multifamily Housing Programs and the Office of Field Policy and Management (FPM). The changes, which include consolidating Multifamily hubs nationwide and closing 16 smaller offices, affect approximately 900 of the Departments’ 9,000 employees.

We carry baggage through life, not the pounds we add but the mental burdens that determine who we are, what we like, dislike, what we think important and how we act in public and how we act in private when we think no one is looking. Some of these life determining factors we picked up when we are barely conscious. Some baggage comes from genes that made their way to us from distant ancestors or a giggle during conception. We are what we are, mainly because of our parents, but teachers, ministers, playmates, and the physical and mental environment of our early years played a significant role in filling the bags we carry.

MORPC Hires New Leader

The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) named William Murdock, AICP, as its new executive director at a starting salary of $152,500. Murdock previously served as the chief of community services at the Ohio Development Services Agency. As executive director, Murdock will be responsible for carrying out MORPC's mission, strategic goals, policies and programs. He will oversee the overall management of MORPC including structure, personnel, finance and the implementation of policies and programs. Murdock will also represent the agency before a variety of government, business and stakeholder organizations across the region, state and nation. Murdock assumed his duties as executive director at the end of January 2013.

We will have a variety of issues for the Spring Conference that impact directly and indirectly our communities and the jobs that we do.
