Apply to fill our Neighborhood Development Specialist position to work to increase the value of our residential tax base by managing the City’s Land Bank Program: create redevelopment opportunities on City-owned lots, expand scattered site infill housing focusing on new housing types, and oversee the sale of City-owned lots to neighbors. Encourage high quality renovations of acquired properties and strategically acquire houses and lots for the Land Bank. The Neighborhood Development Specialist will analyze and identify emerging needs, trends and issues that impact all types of housing in the City including apartment and condominium buildings, and will work with a cross-departmental team of talented and dedicated colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of housing programs, advanced skill in the use of personal computer technology and software, the ability to build consensus and develop partnerships and alliances, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with developers, government agencies, attorneys, and financial institutions. A Bachelor’s degree with coursework in economics, political science, public administration, urban planning, or a related field and a minimum of three years of experience in housing, and community development are required.
