All applicants must be United States citizens or have valid permanent resident card. Applicants must include a valid driver's license with their application. Applicants for the position of Office Manager in the Building division in the Lorain Building, Housing and Planning department serves as the liaison between the administrative staff and the inspectors of the Building division and must have a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in a certified Building department or closely related experience; computer literate; completion of a standard high school course, preferably supplemented by additional courses in civil or structural engineering; or equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Communication Studies, Social Work or a related field, or 10 years of professional experience in a certified Building Department.
