City of Troy - Management Analyst/Planner

The City of Troy is recruiting a Management Analyst/Planner to assist with a variety of community development initiatives. Projects and duties include: research and identification of grant opportunities to advance community revitalization initiatives; administration of the City’s exterior home repair program; and development/oversight of the rental registration program, the latter of which may involve interaction and coordination with neighboring communities. Candidates will offer a passion for community engagement and will foster strong relationships with key community partners, including Troy Main Street, the Troy Foundation, the Troy Chamber of Commerce, the Troy Development Council and the Miami County Visitors Bureau.
The successful candidate will interact regularly with the Ohio Department of Development, acquiring an extensive knowledge of state and federal grant programs and initiatives including CHIP (Community Housing Impact and Preservation program) and CDBG (Community Development Block Grant program). The Development Department acts as the agent for all City grant applications, therefore this individual will get to know and work with staff from all City departments. Additionally, the person in this position will engage regularly with the community (including residents and businesses) in order to gain their confidence and perspective on the various initiatives that affect them. This position will also offer support/assistance to Development Staff on various other duties including updating the City’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan; economic development loans and recruitment activity; zoning
permit review; representation on various City Committees; and other duties as assigned. The City offers excellent benefits including medical/dental insurance, participation in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, the Ohio Deferred Compensation program, and an employee assistance program.
